Omnifold Privacy Policy

Omnifold (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a browser extension that helps users organize, search, and export conversations from supported AI chat websites.

Scope

This policy applies to the Omnifold Chrome extension and related services used by the extension (such as licensing, analytics, and optional export services).

Information We Process

Omnifold processes the following categories of information:

  • Conversation metadata and content (local): Thread identifiers, titles, snippets, folder assignments, and user-created prompt library entries. Conversation text captured from supported AI chat pages when you use Omnifold features. This data is stored in your browser storage (chrome.storage.local), and some folder metadata may sync via chrome.storage.sync for eligible plans.
  • License and subscription data: License key and activation identifier, used to activate and validate paid features. Sent to our licensing provider APIs for activation/validation.
  • Optional analytics events: Basic product telemetry events (for example: install, export action, selector failure). No deliberate collection of full conversation bodies in analytics event payloads. Analytics can be configured or disabled depending on deployment configuration.
  • Optional export request payloads: If you use server-backed PDF export, rendered export content is sent to the configured export API endpoint to generate a downloadable PDF.

How We Use Information

We use processed information to:

  • Provide extension functionality (organize chats, search, export, prompt library, side panel behavior).
  • Validate licensing and prevent abuse of paid features.
  • Improve reliability and diagnose extension breakages.
  • Deliver export features requested by the user.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information.

We may share data with service providers strictly to deliver requested functionality:

  • Licensing provider (license activation/validation).
  • Optional analytics endpoint (event telemetry).
  • Optional export API endpoint (PDF generation).

Data Retention

  • Local extension data remains in browser storage until removed by the user, browser profile reset, or extension uninstall.
  • Service-provider retention (license/analytics/export) depends on each configured provider's policies.

Your Choices and Controls

  • Remove extension data by clearing extension storage or uninstalling the extension.
  • Avoid using paid/license features if you do not want license validation calls.
  • Avoid using server-backed export features if you do not want export payloads sent to the export API.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

Children's Privacy

Omnifold is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction).

International Transfers

If service providers operate in other regions, your data may be processed in those jurisdictions.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material updates will be reflected by changing the effective date.
